One of my favourite items that I made for my family for Christmas was the chunky double crochet cowl by Stephanie, author of the All About Ami blog. You can find the free pattern on her website. I liked it so much I made more than one, and hope to make more soon.
The pattern is easy to follow and it works up super fast. Another bonus is that it only requires one skein (unless you want it to be larger…) . I used Cozy Wool by Loops and Threads in velvet, mushroom, caribbean sea, and earth tones (colour not seen in pictures). I noticed that not every colour in this yarn had the same softness, so I chose the ones that felt the softest to me. Plus, the colours are gorgeous.
Though made from a thick warm yarn (great for Montreal winters), the cowl is worked up in double crochet stitches that are spaced out, so it still drapes really nicely and is light to wear. I highly recommend making one yourself using your favourite super bulky weight yarn.
Don’t forget to sign up for my amigurumi newsletter to receive emails filled with ami fun. You can also follow me on facebook, twitter, instagram, and pinterest to keep up to date on all things hookabee.
Until next time,
Where is the pattern please?
I really want to make an one for me
