Little Flora the Bunny Rabbit amigurumi pattern

I am adding to my ‘little’ collection of amigurumi patterns today with Little Flora the bunny rabbit! She is just as sweet as her bigger version, but can sit easily in your hand. With her little dangly legs and fluffy white tail, who can resist making her!

She is an easy level pattern with simple single crochet stitches and increases and decreases. Her head is one piece with her body, so you only need to attach her ears, legs and tail – and attaching these pieces is easy peasy.

Being such a small size she is quick to make and does not require much yarn. She is great for using up left over yarn from a previous project.

You can make both big and little Flora – they make a really cute set! Plus, when you purchase the two patterns together at the same time you receive a discounted price 🙂

Flora the Bunny Rabbit amigurumi pattern

new pattern! titleMeet the cutie bunny rabbit Flora!  Great to make for the Easter holidays, or any time of the year, really.

I have made both a grey and purple version of her, and I think she looks adorable in both the natural and not so natural colour 🙂  Like my last pattern, Walden the Narwhal, Flora is big and cuddly at 13.5 inches long when using worsted weight yarn.

I really loved designing Flora.  I knew when I started that I didn’t want the traditional teddy bear shape for her, but a more realistic rabbit form.  This proved to be a little more challenging, but worth it in the end!

In the beginning I wasn’t sure if I wanted her to have a separate head and body that needed to be stitched together or have her crocheted as one piece, but I ended up going with the latter.  This means there is some interesting shaping around the neck and less sewing – which I think is a win-win!

I especially love her tail, which looks great both as the same colour as the body, like the grey bunny, or in a nice bright white, like the purple bunny.  The purple bunny also has a fluffy tail, which is very easy to create.  All you need is a brush with wire bristles, such as a slicker brush for dogs (which you can often find in a local dollar store). You simply brush the tail until you get the amount of fuzz you want!
