Andy the Sheep Amigurumi Pattern

new pattern! title

Inspired by the fun bobbles of Bill the Pineapple and Meg the Raspberry, I thought it was about time I designed a sheep! Meet Andy:

Andy the Sheep amigurumi crochet pattern by @hookabee

I absolutely love this guy. The photos really don’t do him justice – he is ridiculously cute. Those ears! When I think of sheep, I think of round fluffy bodies, long faces, and big ears, and I think Andy captures all of these well.

I made him using my go to acrylic yarn, but I can’t wait to make him in pure natural woolly wool – the kind of wool you may not want around your neck, but is perfect for a little sheepy like this guy. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have a whole herd of them soon!

You can find out more about the pattern and purchase it HERE. Can’t wait to see all your sheepies!

Tutti Frutti CAL: results!

tuttifruttiCAL

It has been a little bit since the Tutti Frutti CAL ended, but I have been away so haven’t had the chance to share the winners on my blog until now! This CAL was so much fun. Participants could either make one of my new berries or Bill the Pineapple as an entry into a draw to win some prizes. Fruit amigurumi pattern by @hookabeeYou can check out all the entries on ravelry in the CAL thread. I was super impressed with how many fruit amigurumi were made! And of course with how adorable they were.

To determine the winners, I numbered all the entries and then used random.org to draw 3 numbers. The first number won a hook from HeartSprinkle and a hookabee pattern, while the next two numbers each won a hookabee pattern.

And the winners were…

3rd Place: Wendy with her Dave the Blueberry!

3rd_LittleWcrochet

2nd Place: Carrey with her Bill the Pineapple!

2nd_MixedKreations

1st Place: Michaela with her Meg the Raspberry!

1st_CraftyMichaela

Thank you to all who participated and for cheering each other on. Also a big thanks to Krystle of HeartSprinkle for providing a super fun prize – a crochet hook with a custom handmade handle.

Now to think about the next hookabee CAL…yay!

A very berry ebook and a tutti frutti CAL

new pattern! title

Meet the very berry trio – Dave the Blueberry, Sandy the Strawberry, and Meg the Raspberry. They are named after, in my very biased opinion, the best trio around – me and my brother and sister! Don’t tell my big brother he is the little blueberry.

Amigurumi Berry patterns (raspberry, blueberry, strawberry) by @hookabee

These three are pretty neat. The raspberry has a bobble stitch body (similar to Bill the Pineapple, but a different pattern) and a stem that can be removed to reveal a cute little cup – just like a real raspberry. The blueberry isn’t simply a blue ball, but has some colour changes and little triangles on top. The strawberry has an interesting stitch pattern that I designed myself to create cute little seed spots.

Tutti Frutti CAL

In celebration of their arrival, I am going to be hosting a Tutti Frutti CAL for the entire month of May. From April 30th-May 31st join in and crochet not only these three cutie berries, but also Bill the Pineapple!

Fruit amigurumi pattern by @hookabeeEach fruit you make will be an entry into a draw for prizes, including a hook by Krystle of HeartSprinkle (with a cute berry design!) and hookabee patterns (and maybe more?) from me.

Simply join the hookabee ravelry group, post your fruity projects in the Tutti Frutti CAL thread, and cheer each other on!

And what is a ravelry CAL without some fun project badges?!? Add one of these badges to each of your project pages on ravelry:
